I call all of my babies my POTATOES because typically they are so young and tiny when I start with families. They basically only eat and sleep. It is my responsibility to help them achieve their full potential as a potato and future tater tot. 

I believe that adventures are a key component to development in the early years. Being out and about contributes to their understanding of the world around them. It is very important to me to be able to take my nanny kids on adventures outside of the house. The Triangle has so many great playgrounds, nature spaces, libraries, museums, and play spaces for playdates. Over the years, I've built up a network of amazing local nannies that become part of our social group. 

New sensory experiences lead to brain development. New sights, sounds, smells, and textures are exciting. I love to narrate what they see, encourage them to touch things, and listen to their environment. This contextual learning helps children be engaged, motivated, and retain the knowledge.  

I base a large percentage of adventures on being outside in nature. Exposure to sunlight plays an important role in how our bodies regulate the sleep-wake cycle. Being in nature also helps to reduce stress, anxiety, and improve mood. Outdoor play develops gross and fine motor skills which help a child develop resilience and adaptability, as they learn to manage challenges and take risks.

My Professional Nanny rate starts at $30 / hour.
